SCAM-MAGIC JACK - Not Responsive To Customers

I bought one year service. It only worked for four months. Spent half day chatting and calling them. They told me, I need software update and God knows who from Magic Jack wanted to take over my computer access. So I refused. If someone called me, without my phone ringing, it went in voice mail. My out going calls never worked and I was unable to call anyone. I called again after two months. Magic Jack told me to buy another device, for which I had to pay over $50.00. It never worked. Frustrating enough, I decided to go with regular carrier. Magic Jack would not transfer my number. I called two times and they agreed on the phone but never transferred my number. Two times, I had to cancel my appointment with the new carrier. Third time when I called, Magic Jack told me that my service was cancelled and I have to activate again and pay and then only they will transfer my phone number to the new carrier. It is a nightmare dealing with them. Too good too be true if you think, you save money. On 1/15/15, I talked to customer service, and Samantha told me that she will send me an e-mail about transferring my number. Which, I never received. Now I have to get another number and have to give up 35 years old telephone number. I ended up paying more, about $20.00 per month and had worst experience of my life. I am thinking about the class action law suit. My sister had same experience. After starting Magic jack, for three months she was not receiving any phone calls. Then it worked for couple of months and then it stopped working. Also, you get lots of junk calls and magic jack sells your number to others. That is how they make money. So be careful. It is not worth it. They upgrade their software every three months and make your phone not working. When you contact them, they tell you to buy or upgrade new magic jack device and so you have to pay for the device and shipping. So, you end up paying a lot. Also, when you start your service, they take your credit card number and even though you call and cancel, they charge you. So, be careful. Also, if any of you want to join in a class action lawsuit against magic jack, please write here.
